It is estimated that there are some 450 farmers markets in the country.
Real farmers markets are managed to ensure they remain true to founding principles. The producers are present in person to sell what they grow, rear, make, brew or pickle within a defined area of the markets location.
Many of the producers on this website attend (click on each market for a list) so why not go along and meet them and discover their enthusiasm for what they sell.
Listed below are details of all the farmers markets operating throughout the county. It is advisable to ring the contact number to confirm the date of the market if you are travelling some distance as these are subject to change especially at Christmas. We will endeavour to announce Christmas dates on the ‘News’ page but we would still advise you to check.

Crispy Roast Goose
Goose is relatively expensive but a little goes a long way. It is a rich, fairly fatty meat but it has a completely delicious flavour. Whatever you do, do not throw away the fat - it is perfect for roasting your spuds, in fact, once you have tasted potatoes roasted in goose fat, nothing will ever be quite the same!
